New England Cable put up a feed using AP Television News about a US-Brazil story. (Lawyer: Everyone suffering in U.S.-Brazil custody case)
The story is about how an American child is being denied being reunited with his American father by the child’s Brazilian step father. (Yes, this is the Sean Goldman case.)
It would have been nice if APTN had added a video with the father’s side, but it does show how a local station can do a U.S. related story about an international issue without spending any money for an international correspondent.
I cannot comment more about the case because my wife is involved in it. But there are so many angles that local news organizations can work with on this case and the thousands of other Hague Convention violations around the world.
