Seems there is a Brazilian senator who wants to return some of the laws of the bad old days of the generals.
Brazil had a law that required journalists to have a degree to work under the dictatorship. Even after democracy came to Brazil many laws from the days of the generals remained on the books. About 6 months ago the laws affecting journalists and the media were tossed by the country’s supreme court. Including the portion about journalists being required to have a degree to practice our craft.
Now a member of the Brazilian senate has brought back this idea for debate.
