The Foreign Correspondents Club in Jakarta was forced to cancel a showing of an Australian film that claims six Australia-based journalists were murdered during Indonesia’s invasion of East Timor in 1975.
The movie is banned in Indonesia. The Jakarta government is nervous about accusations about how it handled the East Timor war. And like all governments nervous about the truth, it tries to hide it.
