Cuba attacks popular blogger

It’s not news that the Cuban government is not happy with Yoani Sanchez, a popular blogger who is critical of the government in Havana.

It is news that Sanchez says she was grabbed by government agents Friday and beaten.

Blogger says Cuban agents beat her

She writes about the episode in her blog, Generation Y, in “A gangland style kidnapping” and “Blame the Victim”.

Sanchez was recently in the news when the Cuban government denied her an exit visa to receive the Maria Moors Cabot Prize in New York.

She was also named as one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine.
